Exclusive Interview: SARAH LANCASTER PLAYS BIG SIS TO LITTLE BROTHER ON ‘CHUCK’

In the universe of CHUCK, our title hero, played by Zachary Levi, must cope with being a secret agent who possesses erratic super-powers on the one hand and his crazy work crew at the Buy More electronics store on the other.

Chuck’s one oasis of normalcy is his loving (if often exasperated) sister, Dr. Ellie Bartowski, played by Sarah Lancaster who has been sensing that Chuck may be lying to her about what he’s actually up to (though the last episode before the Olympic break had her mind at ease when she saw Chuck making out with new love interest Hannah (played by former SMALLVILLE star Kristin Kruek).

Lancaster recently spoke with iF about the third season of CHUCK and those surprising car/Olympics commercials that looked like they were part of the actual show.

iF Magazine: Now that the paradigm has shifted slightly on CHUCK, what new developments can we expect for Ellie?

SARAH LANCASTER: I don’t really know much. They don’t give us a lot. I think Episode One was great, the way they tied our cliffhanger in last season. The writers never cease to amaze me. There’s a little trouble in paradise with Ellie and Awesome, because Awesome’s having to keep the secret from Ellie and she’s suspecting something amiss. But they don’t tell us much. We’re just kind of overwhelmed at this point. We’re very excited to be back and the fan up thing [the campaign to keep CHUCK on the air that involved buying from Subway sandwich shops] was just beyond words.
